the vital few (9)
This series of penny portraits, created from 2006-09, dealt with a limited, by no means exhaustive, look at the elite members of society that have brought about fundamental change in the daily lives of mankind worldwide. Through their vision and work, the world is as we know it. These portraits were made from over 40,000 U.S. pennies adhered with construction grade adhesive to masonite panels. -
the boundaries (5)
The Boundaries consists of collaged oil paintings focused on how taboo becomes ridiculous in the eyes of a profit hungry media and shock resistant audience. When margin of profit replaces god, humanity becomes inhuman. From 2004-06 I collected headline stories from the NY Post, NY Times, and the Daily News as direct inspiration for the subject of these works. -
The Puppet Masters (11)
The Puppet Masters is a 10 panel project. It was designed to be displayed as one piece. I have also broken the piece into 10 individual, digitally printed panels for a limited run. Each panel contains 10 of the top 100 global brands for the year 2006. Panel one contains 1-10, 2 contains 2-11, etc. The inspiration for this series came from a meeting with the good ol' brand cops at Intel. -
